RULES

Welcome to Phoenix Rising, we hope you have a great time here, but please read and follow the rules, so that everyone can enjoy this shard.
Upon acceptance to Phoenix Rising, you agree to abide by and follow the Shard Rules. Failure to follow the agreement may result in jail time of your character and/or banning of your account on Phoenix Rising.

Just because a rule is not specifically stated or detailed here does not mean that if you find a “loophole” you are free to proceed with unacceptable behavior. Use your head and judgment. You may lose the right to play here if your actions are deigned to be detrimental to the shard.

You have a right to request a trial hearing at any time and present your case to the Tribunal.

1. Have fun! The Phoenix Rising Shard is donated to the citizens of Britannia so that you may enjoy the Shard and the people that dwell within the lands.

2. Paging GM’s – The GM paging system is to be used for necessary things only. If you are stuck, or have a problem that interrupts or discontinues your game play, that is a necessity, while asking to become staff or asking for the time, is not.
When you do page a GM, try to specify the nature of your problem in your page. Chances are a GM can fix your problem without you being online, IF they know what the problem is. Paging a GM with the message simply saying “I need help!!”, isn’t likely to get you help very quickly. Pages like – “Can I be a GM?”; “Hey”; etc., will be deleted. DO NOT page for the whereabouts of another player, or any question that can be answered by another player or is already answered in the rules or elsewhere on the website. Furthermore, DO NOT demand that staff answer your page immediately, a staff member online may not necessarily be at his/her computer, or may be busy. Abuse of the GM paging system will result in the jailing of your character. Please use the paging system wisely.

3. Illegal Actions – When in doubt, don’t do it! If you are not sure whether something is legal or not, please find out. Everyone is expected to be up-to-date on the rules and ignorance of the rules will not be accepted as an excuse. You may not arrange for the exchange or transfer of any pirated software or other contraband while you are on the Phoenix Rising shard or it’s website, nor may you use the shard or it’s message boards for any other illegal purpose. You may not violate any local, state, national or international law or regulation. (Phoenix Rising will not be held liable for it’s player’s actions and will cooperate fully with any investigation by any law enforcement agency. In fact, we will be VERY helpful, so don’t do anything illegal.)

4. Profanity - Phoenix Rising is home to numerous young players, so watch the sexist, foul, and racist language.

5. Exploitation – NO bug exploitation is allowed. If you discover something that might be a bug – report it immediately. If you are caught using any bug for ANY reason, you will be held responsible.
Players that find and report bugs and exploits are often rewarded for their honesty

6. Anti-Social Behavior – No harassment of players or staff will be tolerated. Have respect for everyone on the shard. If you have a problem with another player, you may challenge him/her to a duel and take it to a designated PvP area (See Rule #7 ). However, if you decide to harass them... then you risk losing your account. You may not organize any guilds and/or groups that are based on any racist, sexist, anti-religious, anti-ethnic, anti-homosexual or any other hate-mongering philosophy. Roleplaying is great, and encouraged, just remember that it IS a game, and not let it get out of hand or too personal.

7. PvP - Phoenix Rising does allow PvP in designated areas, such as the entire facet of Fellucca. Phoenix Rising also has a PvP arena and will hold events involving PvP. Guilds and factions also may PVP almost anywhere.

8. Items – DO NOT ask GM’s for items. GM’s are not allowed to give out free items to players, nor are they allowed to tweak, or change aspects or amounts of any item for a player without specific reason and permission from the administration. We will not replace lost/stolen Items unless it can be proven that it was lost due to a staff mistake (i.e. a gm accidentally removes something).

9. Shard Forums – Use the shard forums wisely and with respect. It is not to be used as a means to harass or flame anyone. This includes this shard, other shards, players and staff. You may not post or communicate any player’s real life personal information within Phoenix Rising shard or message boards. Abuse of the forums may result in you being blocked from using them. Disagreements are fine, but keep it civil please, no name-calling etc. No recruiting for other shards will be allowed in game or on forums.

10. Account Life – Accounts that haven’t been used within a 30 day period may be removed at the administrator's discretion. No restoration or compensation will be given. Let an admin know if you will be away for a long period, and we will note your account.

11. New players - New players will be given general newbie items in a Welcome pack (one per account, not per character).

12. Guards - Seeing a red or gray character in town is not an excuse to call the guards, period. Unless they are specifically attacking you, calling the guards on them is PKing outside a designated area and is a jailable offense. (guild or faction wars not included) If someone IS guard whacked…no looting, unless they ask you to retrieve items for them. Do not set a hotkey to call guards as you open bank or buy. This is still calling guards without being attacked.

13. Housing - Housing rules have changed and this section will be updated soon, for now ask a staff member.

14. Account Information - You may not give false information or intentionally hide any information that is required at the time you register with Phoenix Rising shard. If a family member wants to join, we welcome them, but must have admin approval FIRST. Do not give anyone your password. If you do…YOU are responsible for anything they do on your account, and may lose it. 1 Account per person, with up to 5 characters. Any player found with more than one account will be banned and their characters will be deleted.

15. Illegal Programs - DO NOT use any illegal programs that can give you an unfair advantage. Anyone caught using these program(s) will be banned. If you are not sure if a program you wish to use is allowed, ask a staff member. Razor, UoLoop, UOMAP, are fine. but please set any loops to a 12 second delay cycle.

16. Hacking - You will not attempt to interfere with, hack into, or decipher any messages to or from the server running the Phoenix Rising shard. ALL access to the server is logged. ALL hack attempts will be investigated and reported to the authorities.

17. Provocation – DO NOT use this feature in town on players to force them to attack you so they can be guard killed and you can loot their corpse. This is illegal and you will be banned for doing it.

18. Macroing - Attended and unattended macroing is allowed on Phoenix Rising. Please do not do it in public areas (i.e. near the bank, or off of town vendors, etc). ALL macros must have at least a 12 second delay between actions. Staff will disconnect and/or jail anyone using a macro program that ‘spams’ the server. This includes macros set up through options on your paperdoll as hot keys. Please note that hunger and thirst are active here...you WILL lose temporary stats if you don't eat and drink for too long.

19a. Stealing/Looting - Stealing from another player, their house, their guild house or their vendor is illegal and will NOT be tolerated outside of Fellucca. (Stealing with steal skill IS legal) Or in such cases as guild wars, and is done by legitimate means. (i.e you are friended to a players house with all access rights, and he doesn't take you off when his guild goes to war with yours) If you are caught performing illegal stealing/looting you will be banned. Stealing from NPC (Non-player character) vendors is legal. Looting of players killed during raids and/or events is not legal outside of PvP, doing so will result in you being banned. Looting is permitted in PvP areas.

19b. Many players split loot from raids on the top of Brit bank (Trammel). If you are at the bank, please stay on the ground, and stay away. If you are at the bar, please leave while they conduct business, or stay at the far end of the bar (for out of reaching distance). If you interfere in any way with a party splitting their loot you will be killed, maimed, mutilated by staff, jailed to mine jail rock, or transported to Felucca with the offended party so that they may exact revenge upon you. (Felucca is open territory for stealing, so if someone is dumb enough to split loot there...its their problem if any is stolen)

20. In Game Chat System - Do not abuse chat system. No spamming, slamming, or flaming, lets keep it friendly for all to enjoy.

21. Complaining - If you have a complaint on a staff member DO NOT hash it out in game. If you think you can resolve the issue by contacting the staff, do it by email, aim, icq, etc. Keep it out of gameplay. Or at least in PRIVATE in game. If you can't or do not feel that it cant be resolved, then email admin. Staff can also be brought to trial if there is an issue, but staff will not be put on trial for just any reason, or as harassment. You MUST have a legitimate reason and a presentable case.

22. Spells - Do not cast spells near banks (training magery). Do not block or restrict the flow of player(s) or monster(s) by an object, except in battles in appropriate areas. (i.e. casting walls, etc all over the bank area, or sitting there macroing a spell)

23. Gate hopping - Gate hopping on this shard is illegal. Unless you are specifically invited by the person casting the gate to come through, you may not use the gate, and may be jailed.

24. Spamming – Spamming is the deliberate repetition of speech. This is not only extremely annoying, but is not permitted and will not be tolerated for any reason. Also, please consider that people who speak ALL IN CAPS ALL THE TIME soon wear on others’ nerves. This is considered yelling and is entirely unnecessary. You may be muted for doing so, or jailed.

25. Camping- You may not camp (staying in one area waiting for spawns) any quest or “special” monster. Once you are done in the area…leave. Come back later if you wish. This gives all players a chance at them. (For instance, when you finish a “round” in the gauntlet…leave. Come back in a few hours.) Camping normal areas is fine, but if someone else shows up, have the courtesy to leave and let them have a few rounds also.

26. Staff has final say-. If a staff member requests that you refrain from doing something that is not explicitly outlined on this page…do it. Failure to comply with a staff member WILL result in jail time and/or even being banned. Staff members are entrusted to carry out their jobs. DO NOT threaten that you will go to Admin if you don’t get your way. Admin will ban you for a period of time if this happens. If you disagree with something a staff member says, feel free to lodge a complaint.

27. Evolution Dragons-, and other "special" pets may not be used in quests, events, (unless otherwise noted), or PVP unless agreed to by both parties in advance. They may not be left unattended in towns or dungeons. Your dragon may be jailed if it is used in a quest or found alone in dungeons or towns for more then a few moments. (time enough if you crash to come back) If it is continuously left alone in these areas…you may lose the dragon all together. Evos and "special" pets may only be used in designated Pet areas. Signs will be posted, it is YOUR responsibility to read signs. *more to come on this later*

28. Personal Spawns– Personal spawns of any kind including but not limited to Town Vendors, Bankers, etc. are NOT purchasable, so please do not ask. The only exceptions to this are the plants, animals used in the farming system.

29. Protection Cloaks- May be bought at a premium price and are good for one month. If you have one for the correct month, you MUST wear it at all times within Felucca. If you are attacked by a player while wearing one, the player will be jailed. If you are not wearing one and are attacked-Oh Well. If you put it on late and attempt to get your attacker jailed, you will lose the cloak and be jailed. Attackers should check the color and name of the cloak before attacking and "protectees" can announce their protection status upon meeting a potential attacker. *more to come on this later*

THESE RULES MAY CHANGE AT ANY GIVEN TIME, CHECK BACK HERE FROM TIME TO TIME TO BE UP TO DATE.

THESE RULES APPLY TO EVERYONE. IF YOU ALLOW SOMEONE TO USE YOUR ACCOUNT. GUESS WHAT, THEY APPLY TO THEM ALSO. IGNORANCE TO THE RULES WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

PUNISHMENTS FOR BREAKING OF ANY OF THESE RULES MAY RESULT IN LOSS OF GAME TIME BY JAILING OR PERMANENT BANNING FROM THE SHARD.
